Perspectives de recerca: Una mirada al programa HyMeX

Abstract

El programa internacional HyMeX (Hydrological Mediterranean Experiment) té com a objectiu la millora del nostre coneixement del cicle de l’aigua a la Mediterrània, treballant de manera multidisciplinària, amb una aproximació multi-escala i fent especial èmfasi en els esdeveniments extrems. Aquest programa ha de permetre millorar el nostre coneixement i la nostra capacitat predictiva en relació als riscos hidrometeorològics més importants i la seva evolució durant el proper segle. Un dels resultats més importants del programa seran les seves campanyes d’observació, les quals milloraran fortament les dades disponibles, permetent avenços científics significatius. Es descriu l’interès del programa per als grups de recerca espanyols i la implicació activa d’alguns d’ells en el disseny i l’execució de les activitats d’observació. Al mateix temps, per la seva situació geogràfica, Espanya és clau per al programa, essent una molt bona plataforma d’observació. HyMeX enriquirà la recerca dels grups espanyols, millorarà la capacitat predictiva dels serveis meteorològics, ajudarà a comprendre millor els impactes dels extrems hidrometeorològics sobre la societat i ens permetrà definir millors estratègies d’adaptació al canvi climàtic.
